Edith's Journal

Edith Cobb Myers Allen is my paternal grandmother who died at 105 in 1991.  My grandfather, Earle Myers, died in 1917.  He and others communicated through Lillie Cobb, Edith's older sister, who was a trance medium in the 1930's.  Edith kept a journal of all their sessions.
Here is a bit of the journal:

It seems strange to call this experience another life.  When you are a woman, and look back on your childhood, it seems so simple.  Childhood, girlhood, young womanhood, motherhood are not different lives.  You can turn back the pages to your courtship with joyous thoughts.  There is no more difference between different stages of existence than there is to the rooms of your house.  As you easily move from room to room, so can we move from plane to plane with perfect freedom.

Jesus taught that truth.  It has been lost, partly because of the attitude of the leaders of the ecclesiastical world..."I am the way, etc."
The great demonstration was to show them that they might, following his example, have contact with the Father, through faith.  Jesus's sayings do not mean that his followers must don sack-cloth and ashes.

The spirit makes itself known with no rush of wind.  It causes the spirit within you to be caught in the magnet of His love.  How does the mother know the heart of her child?  Because the soul of the mother is drawn to the soul of the child by love--the magnet of love--so with God.

I am in the 7th sphere.  I am under no obligation to come back.

Use the power of thought; it is mighty, as the touch of a button puts into motion mighty forces.  Thought is the motive power of spirit.  There on earth you should remember that as you think, so you are.  We have not realized the possibilities and potentialities of thought.  Think of yourself performing the acts you desire to perform.  Think of yourself as a soul.  Don't lose the glory of the Infinite.  Realize the great power you have as a soul.  Weeds can become fertilizer to bring forth flowers.  Errors may become stepping stones to higher things.

"The kingdom of heaven is within you.  Seek ye first the kingdom and all else will be added unto you.  The kingdom comes as a smile to a baby's face when you least expect it.  Have a childlike faith and trust--simplicity and humility.  Having found the kindgom within you, death is the door way to all else.  Having found heaven on earth, the glory of God is the reward.
