ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
by Catherine Adams

All of us are psychic. Being psychic is a part of our wiring as humans, and it is a part of the wiring of animals, too. Some are more aware of it than others, but all animals are aware of it. They communicate to each other this way and love it when humans communicate with them telepathically, as well. Animal behaviorists will point to behaviors that different groups of animals possess to communicate, and yes, they use these behaviors. But they are also telepathically aware. They will use their telepathic abilities especially if they have no other means of communicating with you.

There is a view, especially prevalent in western cultures, that animals are souless, have no feelings, and therefore are not worthy of communicating with. This is partly due to the influences of Decartes, John Locke and other anti-dark ages, scientific, Enlightenment thinkers of the 18th century. They were so in reaction to the blind beliefs of the Middle Ages that they, too, put forth false ideas that we still have in our cultural ideologies today. Religious institutions were also responsible for this kind of thinking, misinterpreting passages in the Old Testament to turn people against their animal nature and their own divine intuition, mainly to create cohesion and have control over masses of people, in my view. However, to an intuitive or clairvoyant, all dimensions of experience and consciuosness are One since the dimensions are holographic and overlap. So, the earth and all beings, including inanimate objects, have presences and consciousness. This view is similar to what early archaeologists called animism, meaning a belief that all things have life about them.

I was trained as a clairvoyant and learned how to pay attention to my senses beyond the 5 accepted senses of taste, smell, touch, hearing and feeling. I was trained to use these extra senses for understanding people and for myself, but they work for being aware of animals and nature, as well. Opening up your awareness to the thoughts of other non human beings is immensely rewarding. You might be surprised by what they say. Here are some of my experiences that are both funny and profound:

I have found that most animals have a lot of pride and think very well of themselves, while humans are socialized to reduce this tendency. Animals can be funny in their striking self-importance - for instance:

  • My horse was on his way to California from South Dakota, and I was communicating with him about his new home. He had never been out of the plains of South Dakota before so I sent him mental image pictures of what his new home in California would look like. He did not seem impressed with anything. Finally, I showed him an image of the beautiful saddle and handsome bridle I bought for him. Suddenly, I noticed he was excited, and he showed me images of prancing around in this fancy tack, showing off to other horses and people. He really liked to show off and was happy he would be able to do that in his new home.
  • When my cat got old and close to crossing, she was having a hard time making it into her litter box. This was exasperating for me, but I wanted to know how she felt. The overwhelming thing she was concerned about was being a hardship for me. When I got that from her, I felt very sad. Now that she has crossed, she happily greets me in spirit when I get home to an empty house and I wake up with her on my bed in the morning. I am not always aware of this, but aware so often that I know she is happy and has never left, and the physical difficulties of the past are gone.
  • A friend's horse told her she loved it most when her owner fed her grain out of a bowl that the woman was holding, instead of feeding her the grain in the manger. The horse said she felt more loved and special that way. The woman was so touched that her horse noticed this and liked it. She would not have known if there was no attempt at telepathic communication.
  • Your pet relishes the attention you give him or her, whether cat, horse, dog or anything else. Animals who are not naturally social animals, such as cats, or non-predatory animals such as horses are not so adept at communicating their pleasure as dogs are, but if you pay attention, they are very touched by your love and attention. Any horse owner/lover will tell you how loving these animals can be, as can cat owners. My horse places his muzzle on my shoulder or chest and rests his head, closing his eyes with surrender and love. My cockatiel grooms my hair and loves to have me cuddle him, flying across a room to be with me.

Pets and animals are often servants to humans. Pets who are socialized to human living are most often here to teach us love, self-acceptance, tolerance for beings unlike themselves, among other things. With each family, the pet/human dynamic is always unique, but beloved pets are with you for life. If they die, they hang around your home and around you always, in their never-failing devotion. There are people they will not like, but if they are your pets, and you have a bond, you are NUMBER ONE. They love you unconditionally for all time.

When pets die I have seen that they sometimes go to a place where they are greeted by other animals like them. Sometimes a horse will be found galloping in an ideal field of green. However, one thing that never fails, they are not far from you. They never leave you. They are also easy to communicate with. Death is natural to animals and they do not fear it the way humans do. Of course, they fear physical pain and harm, but the idea of crossing over to spirit with awareness is taken for granted by them. There is no fear of anhilation that some humans have. This is something else they also have to teach us.

Your pet will be very happily surprised to have you talk to him or her with intelligence and respect and will be happy to talk back. Even if you talk to your pet before you leave for the day and say out loud to your pet to take care of the house, that you will be home at the usual time, and will be thinking of him or her, you will be opening a more clear line of communication and you probably notice a difference in behavior.

I can do a session for you to help you communicate with a deceased pet, help with a behavior problem, help open a better line of communication between you and your pet or just plain do it for fun. I do healing for animals, as well. They respond very well to energy healing, usually better than most humans because this mode of healing uses a means of communication that is natural for them. Lastly, I teach people how to do this. Feel free to check out my phone or in-person classes on my WORKSHOP page.
